Young hockey players from this province hit the ice in the United States to show their stuff in the Memorial Day Challenge.
Blizzard Hockey, a youth hockey program in Newfoundland and Labrador, sent 12 teams to Tampa, Florida to take part in the challenge in late May. Each of those teams competed against some of the best that Florida and nearby states had to offer.
Blizzard Hockey says their teams put up some tough competition, and showed off the talent that runs in youth hockey in this province.
By the end of the tournament, several champion banners were taken home by teams from this province.
The 2008 AAA Blizzard team took first place in their division with five tournament wins and no losses, outscoring the competition 42-2.
Blizzard Hockey congratulates each team for taking part in the competition, and for the skills and hard work that each player exhibited on the rink.
