The Newfoundland Liquor Commission says it won’t re-stock Norman Hardie wines amid sexual misconduct allegations against the Ontario winemaker.
NLC issued a statement yesterday saying it is disappointed and concerned with the alleged behaviour of Norman Hardie.
It says NLC is committed to ensuring its employees operate in a safe and harassment-free workplace.
The Liquor Commission says at this time it does not intend to re-stock the companies wines, but it will ultimately leave the decision on whether or not to purchase existing inventory up to its customers.
A recent Globe and Mail investigation revealed what the paper says was a “wide-ranging pattern of alleged sexual advances and sexual harassment” by Hardie.
Since then liquor commissions and restaurants have begun severing their ties with the winemaker.
