  • One Quarter of NLers Intend to Buy Marijuana Once Legal: CRA Poll

Corporate Research Associates says one quarter of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians asked say they intend to purchase marijuana once it becomes legalized next July.

The CRA poll shows 23 per cent of those asked in this province say they will definitely or probably purchase marijuana once legalized, at least occasionally for personal use.

Three quarters of those asked say they will probably not or definitely not do so.

CRA Chairman and CEO Don Mills says based on current purchase intentions for marijuana use, the initial results for the province are lower than what many may have anticipated.

The survey of 400 adult Newfoundlanders and Labradorians was conducted from November 2 to 30.

The overall results are considered accurate to within plus or minus 4.9 percentage points, 95 out of 100 times.
