The Tory Opposition continues to take issue with the contract of the CEO of Nalcor, saying the optics are bad because of what it sees as a possible conflict of interest.

Stan Marshall, who used to run Newfoundland Power, the province’s main distributor of electricity, before taking over Nalcor, which also owns Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro, the primary manufacturer of electricity.

Energy critic Keith Hutchings has asked the Auditor General to order an investigation, but says the AG won’t even consider the matter until the summer. Hutchings maintains that the matter is serious enough to warrant a review by an independent, impartial body.
