Two people were taken to hospital following a pair of collisions in St. John’s over the lunch hour.
At around noon crews were called to a rear-end collision at the entrance to the Basilica on Military Road.
A female passenger of one of the vehicles was taken to hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries.
Less than an hour later crews responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Stamp’s Lane and Terra Nova Rd.
A sedan was t-boned by a minivan.
The driver of the van was seen being treated by paramedics before being put into waiting ambulance.
Several motorists were seen driving extremely close to the scene and emergency crews. The driver of a pickup truck even took to the sidewalk to get around the scene.
Police say this is dangerous for everyone involved, and drivers should exercise extreme care and caution when they come across emergency crews working.
Damage to the vehicles in both accidents was moderate.
