Tory Leader Ches Crosbie has pledged a workers intake clinic to assess health needs of employees in heavy industry like the Marystown Shipyard.
Crosbie brought his campaign bus to the Burin Peninsula yesterday. He says putting together a screening program would save lives.
He says workers there are people who helped build the region, and they’re now “being forgotten.”
The Chair of the Marystown Shipyard Family Alliance, Benadine Bennett is applauding the commitment. She has been actively seeking government support for such action over the past 13 years following the death of her father.
