The Transportation Safety Board has been called in to investigate a plane crash that happened at Paddy’s Pond on the outskirts of St. John’s early Sunday evening.
The pilot, who was the lone occupant of the aircraft, was assisted by people on the scene who witnessed the crash.
When members of the RNC, St. John’s Regional Fire Department, Eastern Health Paramedics and personnel from the St. John’s International Airport Emergency Services responded to the crash site, he had already been taken to shore by boaters who were in the area at the time.
He was transported to hospital in an ambulance with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
RNC say the investigation has now been turned over to the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.
