The Department of Fisheries and Land Resources is cautioning residents about a polar bear reported in the St. Anthony area.
On April 19 a polar bear was spotted near Parker’s Brook. There have been no calls to the district office since that time.
The department is warning residents who live in the area to take appropriate steps to avoid an encounter with the animal.
Anyone sighting a polar bear is asked to contact the local District Forestry Office in St. Anthony at 709-457-7243.
