  • Police Investigating Counterfeit $100 Bills in Grand Falls-Windsor

Police are urging businesses to take special care when accepting large-denomination bills, as counterfeit money has recently popped up in Central Newfoundland.

Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP say three businesses in the town reported counterfeit $100 bills, yesterday. Police seized the phony bills, and launched an investigation into the incidents.

They’re reminding businesses to closely examine large denomination bills before accepting them as payment, and ensure that all security features are present.

Anyone with information on these incidents is encouraged to contact Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP at 709-489-2121 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
