  • Police Make Arrest in New Year’s Day Backhoe Break and Enter

Police have made an arrest in relation to a New Year’s Day break, enter and theft at the Dominion Pharmacy on Blackmarsh Road.

RNC say a backhoe was stolen from the Piper’s Department Store parking lot on Elizabeth Avenue and used to force entry into the pharmacy by ripping a large hole in the wall.

Thirty-nine-year-old Darryl Denief has been charged with theft over $5,000 and break and enter. He was released from custody pending a court appearance next month.

The RNC say the investigation is ongoing, and they believe others may have been involved.

Police say they have not recovered any of the stolen pharmaceuticals, and warn the public that improper use of prescription drugs could lead to serious illness or death.
