There’s a public meeting in Port Blandford Tuesday night to talk about a plan to clearcut timber, but those who are going to do the job have no idea what all the commotion is about.
Two companies applied a couple of years ago for the rights to timber resources in the area, which is near Terra Nova National Park.
People concerned about the cutting say it could hurt their tourism industry, and possibly even the local salmon river.
The provincial government has approved access to the timber, which included a public notification process.
The meeting takes place at the Royal Canadian Legion at 7:00.
