  • Province Issues Tender for Groundbreaking Asphalt Test

The provincial government has issued a tender for an asphalt testing pilot project to help examine what asphalt mix is best suited to the local climate and environment.

Across the province drivers have noticed that asphalt does not seem to be holding up like it used to, with rutting, broken pavement and potholes.

4.7 km of the TCH between Foxtrap and Holyrood, one of the province’s busiest stretches of road, will be paved with four different mixes of asphalt, which will then be monitored to see how they stand up to traffic and weather conditions.

Government says that type of testing has never been undertaken before in the province.
