  • Province Looking at Alternatives to Metal Culverts

The acting minister of transportation says government is exploring alternatives to metal culverts.

Culverts currently in use have a lifespan of about 20 years, and as has been seen in recent years, need to be replaced at great cost and disruption to the travelling public.

Last week, Premier Dwight Ball indicated government is looking at options that would be more economical than replacing culverts every two decades.

Minister Eddie Joyce says they are exploring some new materials that are more durable and longer-lasting.
