Bonnell Extends Lead at Royal LePage Provincial Junior Championships
Tuesday’s round of the 2018 Royal LePage Provincial Junior Championships remained on schedule for the second consecutive day as weather conditions were superb compared to other parts of the province.
In the Junior Boys Division, Matthewe Bonnell of Blomidon Golf Club extended his lead over Ryan McNeil-Lamswood of Harmon Seaside Links to 7 strokes after carding a 5 over par 76 for a two day total of 149. Gavin Connors of Clovelly broke a three way tie for third finishing the second day of competition recording an 84 for a two day total of 164 and a 1 stroke ahead of Michael Simms, also of Clovelly.
In the Boys Juvenile Division, Ethan Efford of Bally Haly Country Club recorded a second round 91 to take sole possession of first place with a 4 stroke lead over follow club mate Alex Dolomount who recorded a second round 95. Rounding out the top three is Nathan Young of Clovelly with a two day total of 182, 7 strokes behind Dolomount.
Jack Pelley-MacHardy of Grand Falls Golf Club carded an 89 for a two day total of 185 and increasing his lead over Karsen Best of Bally Haly Country Club by 10 strokes. Evan Snow of Gander Golf Club maintained his third place position carding a 103 for a two day total of 219.

The final day of competition will begin at 8:00 A.M. on Wednesday. The awards presentation in the eligible divisions will take place at 2:00 P.M. in the Carrick Room at the Resort followed by a meeting of players competing in the Atlantic and/or National competitions.
