    Mitch Flynn scored twice and Terry Ryan had a goal and two assists in his return to senior hockey as the St. John’s Green Sleeves Caps blanked the Tapper’s Northeast Eagles 6-0 in Avalon East Senior Hockey League play Friday night.

    At the Jack Byrne Arena in Torbay, Scott Bray turned aside all 26 shots against. Robert Barrett, Steve Bailey and Jacob Pitcher also scored for the Caps (7-9-2, 16 pts) with Jon Caul contributing three helpers.

    Mark Yetman faced 35 shots in the Eagles’ (8-7-2, 18 pts) net.

    On Saturday, the Eagles head to the Danny Cleary Community Centre in Harbour Grace to take on HGOE CeeBee Stars (14-2-1, 29 pts) at 7:30 p.m. Meanwhile at the Msgr. Bartlett Memorial Arena on Bell Island, the host Hickman Chrysler Blues (5-13-0, 10 pts) welcome the visiting Puglisevich Southern Shore Breakers (10-7-1, 21 pts). Puck drop in Wabana is 7 p.m.
