A province-wide crackdown on unsafe driving over the thanksgiving weekend resulted over 840 tickets being dolled out to drivers.
3,000 vehicles were checked out by the RCMP over four days as part of Operation Impact.
As result, 628 drivers were charged for speeding and aggressive driving, and four impaired drivers were removed from the roads.
Twenty-two tickets were given out for people failing to use seatbelts, while six drivers were charged for distracted driving, or caught using their cellphones.
Police say a fatal accident on Veterans Memorial Highway, on Friday October 6, remains under investigation by Bay Roberts RCMP.
Drivers are reminded to watch their speed and not to drink and drive.
