A bizarre and dramatic crash in Southlands resulted in extensive property damage, but no injuries last night over the supper hour.
Emergency crews were called to Brad Gushue Crescent shortly before 5:30 p.m. after a car had crashed into a home.
Witness tell VOCM News the owner of the car was cleaning it at a home on Gold Medal Drive. The car somehow took off down the road, by itself, and struck a snowbank before crashing into the home. The car struck the garage of the home several feet in the air before crashing down onto its side.
Both the car and home suffered extensive damage. A sports car stored in the garage was also damaged by flying debris.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
