Parts of the island could experience record warmth this weekend in stark contrast to the bone-chilling cold of the past couple of days. But the warm temperatures will combine with heavy rain to melt a lot of snow – and that could mean flooding.
PAL Airlines and Aerospace meteorologist Brian Walsh says most of the west coast could see 50-100 mm of rain this weekend, most of which falls Friday night. He says it would be a good idea to clear away as many drains as possible as there is a lot of snow on the ground.
The metro region could see record temperatures as the warmest January 13th on record at the airport is 11 degrees. Walsh expects temperatures to be in that range Saturday, and even higher on Sunday.
