A slight increase in taxes in the town of Gander, which tabled its 2018 municipal budget last night.
Finance Committee Chair Brian Dove says residential and commerical taxes are up by one per cent, from a mil rate of 6.4 to 6.46.
The water and sewer levy is also up from $406 per year to $410.
The town is spending money on new recreational infrastructure including a soccer field and track, the starting of a new multiplex and the hiring of a Tourism Development Officer.
