A 63-year-old Paradise man walked away after the float plane he was piloting crashed in the woods near Lower Island Cove on the Conception Bay North Shore yesterday.
The plane landed on the pond to refuel, but when it tried to take off, it failed to get aloft and ended up in a wooded area between two homes.
RCMP say they got the call just before noon yesterday.
The plane was damaged in the incident. The exact cause of the crash is under investigation.
There were no injuries after a small float plane crashed into the woods near Lower Island Cove just before noon today.
Arthur Johnson, who lives in the area says it appears as though the plane was trying to take off from a local pond, but was unable to get altitude.
Other residents in the area say the plane had landed on the pond to refuel, but could not gain enough lift when it tried to take off and landed in the trees between two nearby homes.
The pilot, a 63-year-old man from Paradise, walked away from the crash.
