  • St. John’s Election Expenditures Now Online

    Some of the names on the ballot for the St. John’s municipal election last September had hefty price tags on their campaigns.

    The top three spenders who made it to council include Mayor Danny Breen, who spent almost $60,000 on his campaign. Deputy Mayor Sheilagh O’Leary’s run totalled more than $36,000 and Councillor Maggie Burton spent nearly $24,000.

    Three of the top-spending candidates who lost their bids includd Andy Wells, who claimed over $46,000, Art Puddister, who spent more than $42,000 and Ron Ellsworth, who’s total was around $20,000.

    The remainder of the expenditures can be found on the City of St. John’s website.
