A 29-year-old university student accused of attempted murder has been arrested and charged with two new breaches of probation.
Masih Allahbakhshi is alleged to have contacted individuals the courts had ordered him to stay away from. The breaches are alleged to have happened prior to Allahbakhshi’s last bail hearing. He was released from custody today on the same conditions, plus a couple new ones—the judge ordered Allahbakhshi to stay off social media.
Allahbakhshi has entered a not guilty plea to attempted murder against a fellow student on the Signal Hill Walking Trial in 2017. A two-week Trial by judge alone is scheduled to begin September 9, 2019.
After further police investigation into the alleged offence, Allahbakhshi was later charged with administering a noxious thing, said to have happened just days before the attempted murder. Both charges are because of actions against the same victim.
Allahbakhski will be tried separately on both charges. He hasn’t yet entered a plea to the poisoning charge. He’s due back in court December 5.
