It’s an exciting new music festival in an unusual new venue.
The Brigus Production Company is planning a ten day celebration of music under the Big Top on the shores of Quidi Vidi Lake next month.
Production Co-ordinator Shawn Basha says they have an exciting line-up which includes the Wreckhouse Jazz and Blues Festival, all of which will take place under a huge circus tent.
He says the Stumbellas are opening the festival, and a variety of other performers including Sloan, Dean Brody and the Roadhammers, the Arkells, Cush and Timber are also on the bill.
The Iceberg Alley festival will run September 14th to the 24th while Big Sugar will headline the Wreckhouse Jazz and Blues Festival September 21st-24th.
Basha says the tents will help keep festival patrons comfortable in Newfoundland’s unpredictable elements. He says in Europe and the UK outdoor festivals under tents are fairly common.
