The FFAW says EI benefits need to be extended for fish harvesters who are unable to get out fishing due to heavy ice conditions.

Ottawa set aside $7.9-million in ice compensation back in 2007.
The crab season in areas 3K, 3L and 2J are currently open, but the union says hundreds of boats are unable to get out due to ice.
