Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are heading to the polls today to decide their next government, but it didn’t take long for the first snag in voting to crop up.
Chris LeDrew went to the polling station at the St. Thomas Community Centre in Paradise just a couple of minutes before 8:00 only to find that all the parking spots had been taken up not by voters, but by staff.
That left nowhere for electors to park, and he says they were turning around and leaving.
Elections NL says they are aware of the situation and are working on a solution with a parking attendant on-site. The cars belonging to staff will be moved from the area to free up spaces for voters.
