Unions are and were good, but today it seems it's the high paid union worker in the union offices that makes our union dues so much, I beleive unions are becoming a self serving project of a select few meaning them selves.

So in essence I am supposed to spend my hard earned dollar on expensive and sometimes outrageously expensive items made in North America. While I agree everyone needs and deserves a fair wage I don't agree with it driving up cost for people making less than union wages. There has to be a happy medium. Yes Big Business will squeeze every dollar they can out their employees to pad the profit margins to get richer but on the other hand some union jobs that are menial get paid above some professional jobs. Unions will always be needed but they have to realize they must keep a happy medium.
The majority of us do not make good salaries and spend our money where and on what is the cheapest, sometimes. So before you criticize people for buying cheap Chinese products remember they may not be making near $40,000 a year or have a $18,000 a year pension. They are trying to make ends meet and support their families.

I have to agree with Stuck up crowd, unions have been the curse of pensioners, they have driven up the cost of loiving making the poor poorer while their wallets get fatter. They have completely ignored those who started unions and supported them all their live. These people can't afford anything but imported goods from china and elsewhere. Union leaders are a disgrace and greedy bunch and should be reined in. Wayne lucas is against improving the poor pensioners who haven't seen a raise in over twenty years he is a disgrace. as well as Payne and Furlong and Powers. When will they speak up for past members who are on pension, i guess not until they can collect money from them.

Not everyone can say they enjoy good wages and benefits. There are still many among us who have to depend on Minimum wage. They have to live too! We are all in this together! Why have we built a Society where a portion reap the benefits? Regarding Unions. All thigns pertaining to them are not positive. Our Hospitals are germ filled because certain employees are not permitted to do other work. Also if someoneb loses their job no matter the reason they are protected. There are many who can't get at the higher wages because they are permitted to join the Union.Now let's not rejoice too loudly in what the Unions are doing. In some cases they are a curse on Society. Now to get back to the point I made in the beginning. Compare minimum wages to Auto Makers wages. All have families to look after! Ours is a society where certain ones make out!

Yes wayne but its your group that that support these actions and buy the cheap crap from china.
we just cant give ye all the best working condition with the best of benifits and wages and drive the rest of us out of town because your grou drove every invester away with unrealistic demands. This crowd wants it all for themselves. Payne give your head a shake. Your labour movement is a crook and designed to work for a certain group. If ye were concerd about anyone else ye be i the nrws daily. We want a system that works for everyone not just tje stuck up crowd. Just look at what your wearing to day and see where its made and see who you support.
