Ed. A :

i would like to remind frank that the PC scum did not hire tom so they cannot fire him. the people in his district voted him in. dunderdale will be the big loser out of this, lets see the next poll.

Fred :

Congratulations, Progressive Conservative Party, on your impending extinction from political existence in NL. Would wish you best of luck in the future, but you don't have one. Sayonara!

Ed. A :

dunderdale and her puppets are doing what they do best. tearing people apart is the only thing they ever learned to do. i find it hard to believe that good people like tom marshall still associates with the SCUM that has taken over the PC party. after spending a lifetime supporting them i will campaign against them at every opportunity.

Disgusted :

Some of these posts are hilarious!,,MS. Dunderdale is not MHA Osbourn's employer nor are the PC party, the people that elected him are. Such contempt for the people surely will be remembered at the polls. Their actions show a lack of RESPECT for all of us, no surprise there!

Citizen :

Really, Tom, you have been in politics for 16 years or so...you HAD to have known this was going to happen! Anyone with any common sense would have secretly removed anything of value such as special files, ongoing work, personal items, etc., from their office before they even made the announcement to cross the floor. It would have been easy enough to do and it's done all the time in the business world, whether people admit to it or not! What were you thinking, Tom...or were you?

Hmmmmmm :

I get the feeling from reading the "somments" that they have been made, not by average people, but by those "close to the issue." Oh the spin of gov't.

Alec C :

If Tom was really smart a week before he planned to leave he would retain the services of a skilled 'computer science' engineer.

This person would download ALL files Tom O could access along with restricted information (cabinet). Wikileaks meet newfieleeks, bill 29 would be moot if all information was released to the public.

Surprised the nameplate hasn't been changed on Toms office to future SJ-south PC member in preparation for their assumed victory in 2015.

Constituency documents WERE NOT sent to the PC Party but to Tom himself. PCs will find themselves in legal trouble if they block for the sake of being vindictive and petty.

Should the info comish be called in to determine the difference in 'government' files and Toms personal?

Troy :

I've said it a hundred times, these PC's have something to hide and when that something comes out in the wash we'll be ranting at Confed Bldg to oust them before the next election.

Nice guys finish last :

Tom Osbourne - a man of integrity and brave to do what he did and said. Sadly, politics frowns on this, Tom. It's unfortunate that the people who want to do good, who want to help, are the first to go. In order to succeed in politics, you have to be with the majority clic or be ousted and they make damn sure they stay a majority that way. Sorry Tom..thanks for trying, I guess.

Over the falls :

It's called "Deflecting the attention" folks. Get the public focused on "OH MY, the PC's are being mean to me" all the while he keeps beating on them. Start living in the real world Osbourne. You swim with the sharks, expect to be bitten.

Vin :

I can't believe how many people are posting comments of how he quit his job. Wake up!! He didn't quit his job, he quit the party because he couldn't do his job the way he felt he should. He's still the member for St.John's South which is his job. KD and her puppets are at it again. Her strongarm tactics will get her nowhere. Treat him fair so her can represent the people who voted him in and according to every source of media, supported his actions.

Robert :

Government documents are just thank, government doucments. Not opposition documents. Anything personal will be returned, and all constituancy documents should be at that office.

If this was on his mind for sometime, he should have been able to foresee the fact that once he quit to party, and the govenrment, he would not have access to their records or resources.

Space will be provided, but anyone with any common sense would know that finding appropriate space within an already over-capacity infrastructure such as confederation building, will take some time.

Poor planning on Mr. Osbourne's part.

Oh my :

What did he think was going to happen? Did he think he would bash his employer and they would have a going away party for him? It just shows that he is not in touch with reality. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU QUIT YOUR JOB! I am just surprised that he was foolish enough to come on the airways and talk about it in public!

I wonder what they have got to hide, to go to this measure to lock an elected official outof his office after 16 years service

Blasty Boughs :

Goes to show how many friends he had and what all of his hard work was worth. Nothing!!! They turned on him like a pack of rabid dogs eating their own.

Karl H :

Come on Tom , you werem`t thinking again ! This premier takes her lead from the Harperites , really you should have known and had your files moved before you crossed the house . I am beginning to wonder about just how `smart` you are !!

Posted: 9/21/2012 9:58:44 AM
Derrick :

You should have known better Tom. Kathy and her puppets move very quickly. You are just experiencing Politics at it's dirty worst.

Time to come clean with all of the dirty secrets about Dunderdale and her parade of clowns

Posted: 9/21/2012 9:49:37 AM
Dee :

He's still a MHA and should have access to this office until another is arranged and given a reasonable amount of time to clear out his files, etc.

Whether Cathy likes it or not he is still a representative for his district and his constituents should be able to contact and have access.

Typical of this government.

Posted: 9/21/2012 9:49:05 AM
Jim :

I am sure that Tom and his assistant made sure they had all their files out of there before they made their decision.

Posted: 9/21/2012 9:43:40 AM
Keno :

Tommy boy only has himself to blame for this. It's standard proceedure to deactivate methods of entrance to both the office and computer files for security.

Posted: 9/21/2012 9:36:33 AM
Harry :

Sounds like the typical childish nature of this government. Just wondering, if his card was reactivated, doesn't he have access to his office? or does he have to use his card to get access to the floor his office is on and this door is still blocked?

Posted: 9/21/2012 9:35:46 AM
I wish our Government would grow up :

See what happens when you allow children to get out of control! We allowed the childish tandrums of Danny Williams and now our politicians think it is ok. This man was voted in by the people. Give him his files.
Or maybe it can be debated on a talk show.
You are an embarrassment to Newfoundland. Grow up and do this business you were voted in to do.

Small Minded Leaders :

This is shamefull. It is a slap in the face to the people of St. John's South. Dunderdale should have the good graces to ensure the man can still do his work. This PC government proves its small mindedness with every action they take.

Posted: 9/21/2012 9:03:09 AM
FR :

Isn't he still a MHA ??

Posted: 9/21/2012 9:01:36 AM
Frank :

And rightly so. If you quit your job they will not let you in the office and have access to company files.

Posted: 9/21/2012 8:59:09 AM
K :

Oh well! Looks like Mr.Osbourne will have to find a real job like the rest of us and get to work. "You Reep What You Sow".

ICU NOW :

Tom, you should have thought about that before you decided to jump ship. The basement would be a good spot for you now.

Posted: 9/21/2012 8:52:52 AM
Roy :

Well boy what did you expect, you didn't expect to keep your office and privilages did you, you are on your own now except for being courted by the opposition who need you as a number

Posted: 9/21/2012 8:50:48 AM
Sympathique :

The Dunderdale government is definitly afraid of something. They should be, ever hear of a slppery slope.Tom Osbourne was not the first, and he will not be the last.
How come we only hear from the usual? King, Sullivan, Burke, and Steve Kent? I guess the others are reserving judgement???
Tom Orbourne should be permitted to get his files, and definitly NOT be barred from the Confederation Building.Very un-democratic don't you think??

Posted: 9/21/2012 8:50:42 AM
Tim :

Oh Tom decided he needed to be in the news again since his 1st episode only lasted abt 2 days. Then we saw what it was really all about...your 2 days of fame are over Tom.
Did Tom expect to just be able to have the same office with the other government members? It doesn't work like that! He decided to leave...guess he should have thought things through a little more!

Posted: 9/21/2012 8:48:58 AM
Karen :

I don't think he cares. I imagine that Dean Macdonald has already approached him and he is just biding his time. So don't look so glum in the face Tom, we all know its an act.

Posted: 9/21/2012 8:42:40 AM
Bob :

Tom, you are a very sore loser . You couldn,t get what you wanted ,& being for yourself & not the party or the people you now get what you deserve. Grab your pension & go home & grow up. God help the liberals or ndp as you would not be any assett to them either.

Posted: 9/21/2012 8:29:10 AM
Anon :

Pity.. He got what he deserved. Now he got something to do, spending his time crying to the media. Why no tell us the real reason for leaving after 16 years towing the party line the excuses he is using is a wee bit hollow,!!

Let Him In :

He is an MHA. To lock him out of the House and Confederation Bldg is a bit much. Sure, he can't use resources reserved for government side MHAs only, but the way i\he is treat treated is that it is like he is not even an opposition MHA.

Posted: 9/21/2012 8:04:26 AM
Hunter Jack :

Well DAU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what did he think was going to happen, it is like quitting with a company and going to work with the competition and the company you just left keep your office for you because your new company has no office for you either.pretty nieve if he did not forecast that move.

Posted: 9/21/2012 7:43:58 AM
Billy :

Once again, the sitting government acting like a bunch of children.

Posted: 9/21/2012 7:34:42 AM
Keith :

Sounds to me like Mr. Osborne has the PC party running scared. I feel that any files he has in his office belongs to him and that the PC party would be in violation of its own privacy legaslation by viewing files that belong to Mr. Osborne and his constituants. It is shameful that these people act like school yard bullies when anything goes wrong, they will turn on their own to further their own agenda.

Good for you Mr. Osborne, stand by your principles and to hell with the people who professed to be your friends. It seems that if you want to join a political party you have to leave your morals outside the door and do as you are told. How can you best serve your constituants by being muzzeled.

Posted: 9/21/2012 7:31:21 AM
Max :

Why don't he forget his old stuff and start new. His files on PC policies are useless, he was forced to say things and vote on things against his will. Tom should start new so he can do and say what he wants. He should stay a loner because he can obviously be bullied easily

Posted: 9/21/2012 7:27:24 AM
Yet!!! :
