I hope the person is caught, and is made to take a dose of his/her own medicine then thrown in jail with the sex molesters..... Then lets see how he/she feel when they wake up.......

This happened to me in Toronto. I ordered a drink from a waitress who went to a bar to order it and I guess it was left unattended at some point in the process. I highly suggest going to the bar yourself and watch your drink being opened/made and do not order from a waitress who brings it to you as you do not know where it may be left unwatched! It was not a pleasant experience... I had 3 drinks the whole night but woke up the next morning very very sick and remembered nothing. Luckily my husband was with me to fill in the gaps and informed me that I was very sick and then passed out shortly afterwards. We do remember a strange man and two women, however, following us around earlier in the night and having to move locations twice to get away from them as they kept pointing at us and laughing. I'm not sure what they were hoping for but luckily my husband's beer wasn't affected. Some losers have nothing better to do than terrorize other innocent people.

Precautions are Necessary :
No person asked to be drugged, assaulted, rapped or violated. This has been going on for years, and it will always be an issue. As women we need to be aware and educate ourselves, but sometimes no matter how “smart” we are bad things happen to good people, that is life. Police are investigating and have identified persons of interest. – Throw the book at predators like this and develop stricter penalties for scum bags. Educate boys/men on how not to violate and disrespect women, teach girls/women to be cautious and aware. Bars/Clubs should also consider adding lids/covers to the glasses drinks are served in … Remember this happens to both men and women, when out socialize with trusted friends and stay together, watch your drink being made and at all times, DON’T leave it unattended. If you feel more intoxicated than you should be or you feel strange, get HELP ASAP and go to the hospital and REPORT it. Another thing this is not just happening at bars Downtown, this can happen in many situations at anytime to any person ... be aware at all times. Don’t be scared to socialize just be smart and take precautions and hope that you stay safe. It's very sad that women have to be fearful because of predatory behaviour, but that is the tough reality of the world we live in. Be safe everyone

About time! This has been a huge problem in downtown St. John's for years. Glad to see someone finally paying attention down at the RNC!

Awesome! A whole new reason to not go downtown. As if all the fights, violence, and other drugs were not enough!

As an add-on, altho women are undoubtedly the target in most cases (my girlfriend herself was roofied downtown before we met. Luckily she was with friends who made sure she was safe when they realized something was wrong), guys can also be the recipients, either through pure malice or maybe cuz the morons doing it think it's 'fun'. I suffered the effects about 13 years ago when I mistakenly left a beer (I only had one the entire night) in the care of a friend (who didn't watch it as much as he should have). Less than 20 minutes later, I blacked out and woke up to my head bouncing off the curb on George Street with concerned onlookers gathered around. I thought I got sucker-punched until we pieced together what happened (a crowd of snickering idiots around my one unattended beer at the ol' Majestic were a dead giveaway). The drug was that potent that I didn't even feel my top tooth go completely through my bottom lip after hitting the curb...bottom line: watch your drink and be aware of your surroundings.
