StrongWoman :

First of all, I want to make it clear that I am a woman. I am sick and tired of how political the Woman's Council is about everything. The fact remains that if there are dangerous situations for woman in society, we should take precautions and avoid putting ourselves in potentilly dangerous situations. That's the world we live in! We can't change what other people are doing, so we need to change what we're doing. That's reality. All the nonsense that the council gets on with does nothing but make us appear more as victims. Woman need to be taught to be strong, protect ourselves and make good choices so that we are NOT victimized. All the Woman's council is doing is putting a label on us as victims instead of teaching woman to be strong and smart about the decisions we make.

To the woman's council, put some of your chatter and money into teaching woman about being strong and independant. Teach young woman to have high self-esteem. The ridiculous way you respond to stories such as this one is in no way helping woman. It's doing nothing but teaching them to be victims. I'm sick and tired of hearing it!!

"The Provincial Advisory Council for the Status of Men" also expresses deep concern over this issue, and warns that men, although not as commonly reported, can also have drugs slipped into their drinks and be assaulted as well. Proper care and vigilance must be exercised by both men and women when out drinking in clubs. And please know your limits and never drink and drive.
