One of the suspected “backhoe bandits” is back in the arms of the justice system.
Police believe Jamie Kennedy was the man who used a backhoe to bust up BMO on Newfoundland Drive this past winter.
He has been out on bail but is now in trouble with the law again. Kennedy, who is 40, and another man, who is 24, stand accused of breaking into a house under construction on Lawlor’s Road in Paradise.
The RNC arrested the pair on Thursday, and confiscated their truck. Kennedy was held in custody over the weekend.
People who live in the area are furious. They say damage to the house amounts to thousands of dollars. The only thing stolen was a chopsaw, worth about $100.
Callers to the VOCM Newsroom credit municipal staff with the Town of Paradise for noticing something out of place, taking down the license plate number of the truck, and notifying the RNC.
