Innovation Week kicks off today with events around the province.
Every day of the week is different. For example, today is about the Tech Transformation Summit while tomorrow is based around diversity, culture and innovation.
The CEO of the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Technology Industries, or NATI, says technology and innovation drives all sectors of our economy. Paul Preston says the tech sector enables other sectors.
Preston says they want more awareness that technology as a sector is as big as forestry, the fishery or tourism with an economic impact of $1.6-billion.
The official launch for Innovation Week gets underway at the St. John’s Convention Centre at 8:00 a.m.
