Fire has caused extensive damage to a home in the capital city’s west end.
Crews were called to number 266 Anspach St. shortly before 9:30 pm, and arrived to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of the home.
Acting Platoon Chief Craig Cox of St. John’s Regional, indicated that firefighters made a quick and aggressive attack on the fire and were able to knock the blaze down. After searching the two-apartment home, it was determined that no one was inside at the time.
The home sustained significant fire and water damage. The RNC are investigating the cause of the fire.
