Two dirt bike drivers have been charged and their machines impounded after being caught doing wheelies on the main highway through Holyrood on Saturday.

An officer with the Holyrood RCMP Detachment attempted to pull the bikes over, but they fled the area.

The drivers were eventually located at a home in Seal Cove.

The bikes were impounded and the drivers, an 18-year-old and a 20-year-old, were charged under the Highway Traffic Act.

Their licences have been suspended for seven days.
