Alarms sounded on compatible cellphones, televisions and radios across the province this morning, as Alert Ready kicked off another round of tests on its emergency broadcast system.
The alarms sounded at 10:55 Newfoundland time, 10:25 in Labrador.
The system is used to provide widespread and potentially critical alerts to Canadians in case of threats to life or property, as well as amber alerts.
Not all mobile phones are equipped to receive the test. If you did not receive the notice, Alert Ready suggests getting in touch with your service provider to confirm if your device is eligible.
Ontario and Quebec opted out of participation in this round of tests due to ongoing flood-related emergencies in both provinces.
