It wasn’t the outcome the St. John’s Edge were looking for, but the Head Coach says they can look back in a couple of weeks and be proud of what they accomplished.
The Edge were swept by the Moncton Magic in the NBL Canada Finals while the team was riddled with injuries to a number of top players like Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis, Olu Ashalou, Junior Cadougan and Carl English to name a few.
But, Head Coach Steve Marcus says they’re not making any excuses.
Marcus says no one is 100 per cent healthy in the finals, so they’re not using that as en excuse as to why they lost. He says it’s unfortunate and felt at times that the roster of guys sitting out could’ve won a championship as well.
Marcus, who only took over as Head Coach right before the playoffs says he is proud of the team and once it’s a little less sour, they can be proud of reaching the finals in just the team’s second season, and look to build even further next year.
