The Leader of the PC Party has been silent since an election night “concession” speech that raised more than a few eyebrows.
Ches Crosbie went on the attack, prompting both casual observers and members of the PC Party alike to question that approach.
Crosbie issued an apology the following day for omitting his thanks to the Liberal government, candidates, party supporters, volunteers and voters – all standard in an election night speech.
Since then there’s been nothing but silence.
Memorial University Political Scientist Kelly Blidook says Crosbie also presented what he calls some misunderstanding by implying it could go either way in who gets to govern.
Blidook says the suggestion that the Governor General could choose Crosbie as Premier was wrong.
He says that’s a possibility down the road, but the outgoing Premier in an election stays on as premier and gets the first option to govern coming out of an election.
