PC Leader Ches Crosbie is pulling back on his post-election attack, and looks forward to rebuilding the PC Party while helping the Liberals provide good government, following their first caucus meeting this afternoon.
Crosbie says his remarks Thursday night, after the election, failed to express the achievements of the PC Party in an appropriate way, and congratulate the many candidates and volunteers for bringing the party this far.
Crosbie thanks his caucus, candidates and everyone else who helped in the election.

He says he was passionate about the need for change, and angry at the Liberal campaign of “false claims” aimed at creating fear. Crosbie says he called Premier Ball on Saturday with his congratulations and offer of cooperation.
Crosbie calls his reaction “unfortunate,” and says he should have been more gracious. He realized after the fact that he made a misstep, and made omissions. Others also brought it to his attention, and Crosbie says he regrets it and apologizes.

The PC Leader says the people of the province are not interested in an election any time soon, however they know minority governments tend to be unstable.
They do not want to bring down the government. Rather, he says it’s their intention to ensure the Liberals will gain the confidence of the House on matters of importance to the public, and that the business of the province is carried on.
