In addition, the charges were amended today, now dating to November 2017. That suggests it is believed Dawe was in possession of the bones for a year and a half.
His one-day trial has been set for July 9 in provincial court.
A 20-year-old CBS man accused of possessing stolen skeletal remains from a local cemetery is on the docket today to enter a plea in the case.
Lucas Dawe was arrested and charged with indecently interfering with human remains, possession of stolen property, and breaching a court order after the RNC located the remains in Foxtrap.
It’s believed the bones in question were removed from a crypt in an All Saints Cemetery in Foxtrap, the oldest of four connected to the Parish.
Police had indicated at the time of Dawe’s arrest that the investigation was ongoing – however that investigation has now closed, without any additional charges.
