Elizabeth Wright, who is originally from Maryland, has been living here for about a year. She says it’s important for students to learn about ocean sciences because of how important it is to our culture. She says no industry is untouched by the ocean sciences and that it is embedded in our culture.
She says incorporating experiential learning, or learning by doing, into the classroom plays a huge role in that. She says that it will enable her to bring something to the table that will get he students excited about the marine sciences.
