NLC says Statistics Canada figures from last year showing that Newfoundlanders and Labradorians spend more on booze than any other province in Canada bear out what they already know.
The Liquor Commission says Newfoundlanders and Labradorians purchase more alcohol in litres than those in other provinces.
While figures are lower for products like wine and coolers, we lead the way on liquor and beer although those numbers are starting to change.
NLC reports a shift in the last three years with the overall percentage of liquor and beer sales declining slightly, and wine and coolers increasing to approach the national average.
