A Grade three teacher at St. Matthew’s School in St. John’s has been awarded a Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence in STEM Certificate of Achievement.
This year’s recipient, Nancy Ryan, engages her students with stories of her hobby farm, animals and her sports car. Her students look after a garden and go on after school hikes.
This award honours outstanding science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) teachers who keep students engaged in these fields.
The Prime Minister’s Awards carry a cash prize, letter and a certificate signed by the Prime Minister.
