The Scotiabank on Topsail Road in Paradise will be closed for the rest of the day following an electrical issue inside the building.
St. John’s Regional Fire Department was called to the bank around 2:30 after workers reported a strange smell in the building, it was later determined that the source of the odor was a piece of electrical equipment.
Fire Captain Steve Morris says the issue has been resolved and that there were no injuries.
The bank will be closed for the remainder of the day while the equipment inside is checked out.
