The Fluvarium is assuring those with bookings at the facility that their events are safe as it works to fill the financial void left after Suncor pulled its naming rights sponsorship.
Chairman Emeritus John Perlin says they’re facing a “crisis” situation as it relates to the continuation of their educational programs.
Some 10- to 12,000 students pass through the facility each year through local school programs.
Perlin says Suncor’s sponsorship was important and they’re working to fill that void. That will have an impact, especially on schools that had trouble raising the money needed to send kids to the Fluvarium.
A piece of artwork owned by the Fluvarium is going up for auction in Toronto this evening. It’s hoped “Bonfire” by Mary Pratt will fetch between $8,000 and $12,000. Consignor has agreed to waive its commission.
The Fluvarium also accepts donations to support their programming. View more information on donations at this link: Make a Donation.
