The St. John’s Status of Women Council has named Laura Winters as its new Executive Director, effective June 3rd.

Winters replaces Jenny Wright who stepped down from the position in March.

Winters has done front-line work with the Safe Harbour Outreach Project, Iris Kirby House and was the system coordinator for End Homelessness St. John’s. She also runs a small pottery business.

The council says her strong feminist values, community building, and openness and integrity are core components of her leadership.
