A British cameraman who has done award-winning work for organizations like the BBC was so impressed by a working trip to Newfoundland, he decided to come back to see it properly.
Tom Rowland was in the province last year filming a series on birds, named ‘Canada: A Year in the Wild,’ and was so taken with the place and its wildlife, he wanted to see it all again outside a camera lens.
He says it’s allowing him to take in all the “wonderful wildlife moments” before him, including a pair of nesting bald eagles he observed while hiking Signal Hill.
Rowland, who is from Bristol, which has long historic ties to Newfoundland, tells VOCM News he doesn’t miss the camera and hopes to come back again.
