A local community organization is working with a mother on a campaign to help bullied kids, after her young daughter was seen on video being kicked and punched by a group of older teens.
Dana Metcalfe of Women Into Networking Kindess (WINK) reached out to Krista Leigh Strickland, whose 12-year-old daughter, Faith, was seen cowering and repeating “I’m sorry” as a group of older teens ganged up on her outside the Avalon Mall.
RNC are investigating.
Strickland says while her daughter is still suffering the effects of that incident, the public support has been tremendous.
Dana Metcalfe of WINK says the story got the attention of their members, and they wanted to create an opportunity for Faith to become an advocate.
They’re in the process of designing an anti-bullying campaign to encourage the provincial government and Department of Education to introduce an anti-bullying bill that will allow schools to enforce measures to address bullying.
