The grandfather of a little girl who made a big impact in her short life is offering his thanks to Senator Fabian Manning for mentioning Neveah Denine in the Senate.

Manning has been involved in “Telling Our Story” – sharing some of the unique and special elements of Newfoundland and Labrador culture with his fellow senators. He started the effort two years ago on the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Beaumont Hamel with the intention of sharing 100 stories.

John Denine thanked Manning on VOCM Open Line with Paddy Daly for sharing Neveah’s story in the Red Chamber. He says Manning made a beautiful tribute to his granddaughter.

Neveah Denine raised tens of thousands of dollars for the Janeway Children’s Hospital through Neveah’s Lemonade Stand. The effort came out of her own experience in hospital as she battled neuroblastoma.

She passed away in August of last year at the age of nine.
