Members rallied at Confederation Hill over the lunch hour as part of “strike school.” The current agreement contains no wage increase over the life of the package, a situation which the union does not wish to have repeated.

CUPE President Sherry Hillier says they insist of fair and equitable negotiations in 2020, and they insist that government treat their members “with respect.”
The purpose of strike school, she says, is to mobilize the membership because their members come from all across the province, including Labrador.
