Details of the re-opening of the House of Assembly have been ironed out.
Members of the House elected on May 16 who are eligible to swear their oaths will be sworn in at a ceremony Monday, June 10 at 10 a.m. in the House of Assembly Chamber.
The member-elect for Labrador West will be sworn in at a later date. Jordan Brown of the NDP defeated cabinet minister Graham Letto for the district by five votes, pending a judicial recount.
Seating in the public galleries will be by invitation only.
The House opens at 1:30 that day with the election of the Speaker. That will be an especially important function, as the minority Liberal Government holds 20 of the 40 seats.
Following the election of Speaker, Lieutenant Governor Judy Foote will deliver the Speech from the Throne to officially open the First Session of the 49th General Assembly.
