The FFAW is calling on the provincial government to follow through on commitments made during the provincial election.
Among those sworn-in yesterday was Gerry Byrne, who is resuming his role as Fisheries Minister, and Sherry Gambin-Walsh, who is staying on as minister of Service NL.
The Fisheries Union says it questioned each of the parties on their commitment to improving transparency and fish price negotiations by collecting accurate information from fish processors on all product processed in the province. That includes information on production, yield, and domestic and international prices for all species.
The union is also calling on Service NL to make a processing safety sector council a priority within Workplace NL
